SoCAPS (Society of Chinese American Professors & Scientists) is a nationwide not-for-profit organization that consists of a group of Chinese American Professors, Scientists and other Scholars with distinguished achievements. Established officially on May 25, 2003 at University of Chicago, IL. The Society currently have about 180 founding members throughout 30 States including all 8 states in the Midwest (Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Ohio, Iowa, Minnesota, and Missouri).

The Mission:

1.To advocate the interests of Chinese American academics.
2.To facilitate its members’ contributions to American society through promotion of their academic achievements.
3.To advance science and education through academic Collaborations and information exchange.

美华学社简介

美国华人教授科学家学社(简称：美华学社)于2003年5月在芝加哥创立，是一个全美国范围内以华人教授及科学家为主体的非营利和非政治性的专业学人团体。美华学社由学术水平较高的华人教授，科学家组成。200余会员中95%有博士学位，85%左右是美国大学教授。他们分布于美国三十多个州的各所大学，研究机构或工业界。其中有十多位担任付校长，系主任，研究室主任等行政管理和学术领导。受聘为学社荣誉会员的有华云生，任筑山，韩启德，严东升等国际著名科学家。

学社宗旨：

1. 维护华人学者的利益
2. 促进会员对美国社会的贡献
3.加强国际尤其是美中两国之间的学术交流合作，推动科技与教育的发展。
